Questions

Before you register

A few things families ask us most. If your question is not here, email istreamnj@gmail.com and we will answer directly.

How much do programs cost?

Most community events and family nights are free. Multi-week labs and camps are low-cost, with scholarships available. The registration form for each program lists the current fee.

What should my student bring?

A water bottle and a willingness to build. We provide laptops, tools, robots, and materials. For outdoor aviation events, bring sun protection and closed-toe shoes.

Who supervises students?

Programs are led by iSTREAM staff and vetted volunteer mentors. At least two adults are present at all times, and families receive a safety briefing at drop-off.

Can parents stay?

Yes. Family Science Nights are designed for parents and caregivers to build alongside students. During labs and camps, families are welcome at the showcase at the end of the session.

My student has never done robotics. Is that okay?

That is exactly who these programs are for. Every session starts with the fundamentals and pairs newer students with experienced mentors.
